"The homological algebra of cohomology theories"
It has long been know in algebraic topology that most cohomology theories behave like rings in some sense; for example, the cup product makes the cohomology of any space a ring in a natural way. In ongoing work with Keir Lockridge, I have been developing the algebra of cohomology theories, especially homological algebra. I will describe this program and some of its results, as well as its relationship to Freyd's generating hypothesis
