Seminars for the week of March 29, 2010

Colloquium

Thursday, 3:35, in VinH 16

Professor Erwin Bolthausen
of University of Zurich
will speak on
"The ultrametricity problem in spin glass theory"

Ultrametricity is a very puzzling open problem in spin glass theory. We describe the problem, discuss why it is thought to be important, and present attempts to shed some light on it.
