Seminars for the week of May 2, 2005

Colloquium

Thursday, 3:30, in VinH 16

Professor Ezra Miller
will speak on
"Combinatorics in cohomology and convexity"

Discrete structures arise in a vast array of continuous geometric contexts. The aim of this talk is to convey a glimpse of the possibilities by describing some recent work and open problems in connection with cohomological data on manifolds, properties of convex polytopes, and mixtures of the two.
