Carme CaldererProfessor of Mathematics, University of Minnesota. The research activities of Carme Calderer are at the interface between Mathematics and Materials Sciences. The topics that she addresses concern partial differential equations and their application to mechanics and condensed matter physics, especially, liquid crystals, complex fluids, polymers and gels. She addresses applications of gels to biology and design of devices. One of Carme's research components relates to problems arising in industry. |
