Final Exam
The final exam will be held on Thursday, December 14, from 1:30-4:30 pm, in
Science Classroom Building 125. Please note that this room information is for Molly's class only.
The final will count for 35% of your grade.
Make-up exams are allowed only in extreme circumstances and you must notify both me and your TA in advance if at all possible.
Calculators are not allowed at the exam. (The exam will be written with this in mind.)
The exam is closed book.
Please bring your student id to the exam.

A few notes about the exam:
Related rates (end of Section 2.6, #1 on my Midterm 2) will not be on the exam.
Section 7.3 will not be on the exam.
For Sections 7.1 and 7.2, you are only responsible for the material that was covered during lecture on Friday 12/8/06.
Linear approximation (Section 2.5, #3 on Doug's Midterm 2) will not be on the final.
You would only need to use the limit definition of the derivative (Section 2.1, p. 101) if the directions specifically ask for this.
If it just says to compute the derivative, you can use any method you'd like.
You don't need to memorize the error approximation formulas from Section 6.4 (p. 515 and p. 518).
There won't be problems exactly like those in the Exponentials section of the review sheet. (These are more the type of thing that you might encounter in the midst of another problem.)
Corrections:
- Solutions to Molly's Midterm 1 #3(d): I had an extra y in the solution. The updated file is posted above.
- Answers to Doug's Midterm 2 #5: The coordinates for the inflection point should be (-3,79) (rather than (-3,25)). The updated file is posted above, as well.
The study session on Thursday (10 a.m. to noon) has a new room: Vincent 206.
