Hello everyone! I am Jered Bright, a first year graduate student in the Masters of Science of Mathematics with Math Education Emphasis program here in the Math Department. I completed my undergraduate degree (Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics with Math Education Emphasis) here at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus in Spring 2010. I thoroughly look forward to the experience of being a Teaching Assistant to all of you this semester!

I am very passionate about education (and math as well) and have taught through many programs. For those of you interested in educational opportunities, I encourage you to visit my Links page and visit the programs listed under the "Teaching" Section. I am well versed in all the programs listed there, so feel free to ask me about them!

Lastly, when I tell people that I am going into graduate school for mathematics, I often get the question, "What do you like about math?" When I first received this question, I was dumbfounded; now I have my answer. Mathematics is a language that is universal -- everyone can understand math and with it understand the universe and everything it contains. All of our daily experiences use math in some form or another and when we recognize the beauty of mathematics, we have a deeper appreciation for the complexity of our experiences.
