Prof. Richard McGehee
Earlier this year the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a report documenting the scientific link between human activity and climate change and predicting continued climate warming under various scenarios. The IPCC predictions are based on many and varied computer models, the most highly respected of which take weeks or even months to run on the largest supercomputers. In this talk I will review the scientific theories behind the IPCC predictions and show that even extremely simple mathematical models can be informative.
