Early application is encouraged for all candidates. Candidates applying prior to February 28 will be evaluated and notified of admission decisions by March 31. The final application deadline is June 5 for fall enrollment. We admit new students for the fall term of each year only.

Before filling out the application form below, you need to apply to the University of Minnesota Graduate School. WARNING: Be very careful to select "Financial Mathematics" as your major and NOT "Mathematics M S".

Please read through our admission requirements at http://www.math.umn.edu/finmath/admission_requirements/. Note that this website contains our "Institution and departmental ETS codes" for the GRE and TOEFL, near the bottom.

NOTE: If you wish to be exempted from the preparatory course sequence (FM 5001/5002), then we require that you submit a GRE Mathematics Subject test score. Only the Mathematics Subject test needs to be taken. Note that, for students who take FM 5001/5002, the program is a minimum of two years in length.

NOTE: Your university transcripts do not need to be sent to the Math Department. They will be requested by our Graduate School. Also, letters of recommendation are handled by the Graduate School's online letters system, which you'll see as you go through their online application system (see above for the link).

As you are applying, please make a note of your "AY ID" ; you will need it below. For information about finding your EMPLID and AY ID numbers, see Q42 and Q52 in http://www.math.umn.edu/finmath/faq/. NOTE: If you are requesting a Change of Status and not a new applicant, please put zeroes in the AY ID field. WARNING: Do NOT give out your password!
